RISKS IN WATER – WHAT CAN HAPPEN?
Salts (hardness constituents) are dissolved in all natural water. The type and concentration of water constituents in drinking water varies depending on the origin of the water and the way it is obtained.
The water constituents can cause the following problems during the operation of cleaning plants:
Hardness components (calcium and magnesium salts)
Formation of deposits in the washing equipment, lime deposits due to calcium and magnesium hydrogen carbonate, clogging of the washing nozzles, corrosion potential and or visible residues on the surface of the washed goods.
The customer’s water quality has an influence on the surface quality of the cleaned wash goods, the performance as well as on lime or mineral deposits in the system. The decisive factors are the raw water hardness and the mineral salt content. For trouble-free operation we recommend:
Water quality Standard plants (crate, pallet cleaning, etc.) Water hardness max. 5° German hardness Conductivity max. 500 MicroS / cm2
Rinsing water quality Chocolate mould cleaning plants (100% stain-free) Water hardness max. 1 – 3° German hardness Conductivity max. 20 MicroS / cm2
WATER SOFTENING – SOFT WATER
A water softening system provides soft water and prevents lime deposits. The following applies: The harder the water, the higher the risk of lime precipitation. The conductivity of the water after softening is max 500 MicroSiemens. This guarantees trouble-free operation of the washing systems.
OPERATION OF REVERSE OSMOSIS – OSMOSIS WATER
An osmosis plant (full demineralization ) frees the tap water from all minerals. The conductivity of the water after demineralization is max 20 MicroSiemens. This guarantees an absolutely spotless rinsing result on the washing machines.
